Obituary for Shirley J. Hardy

Shirley J. Hardy, age 86 of Greenville, formerly of Cahokia, IL. passed away at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018 in the Oliver C. Anderson Hospital with her family at her side.

A Celebration of Life for the immediate family will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the Valhalla Cemetery at 3412 Frank Scott Parkway West in Belleville with Reverend Kurt Simon officiating. In lieu of flowers Shirley preferred memorials in her memory may be made to Vitas (to help others) at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home or at the service.

Shirley J. Mann, was born on November 3, 1931 in Hannibal, MO. Where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1949. Shirley began working for the National Food Store and rose to head cashier at the Cahokia store where she retired after over 35 years, in 1996. Shirley moved to Greenville in 2005 to be close to her family. Shirley is a member of the Retail Food Store Union and was baptized in the Presbyterian Church.

Shirley is survived by her two children, daughter Linda (Rogers) Carr and husband Mark of Greenville, son Daniel D. Rogers and wife Vicki of Boaz, KY, granddaughter Lesley Edge of Wentzville, MO, grandson William Rogers and wife Sydney of Hickory, KY, three sisters Donna (Mann) Bremer and husband Vaughn, Peggy (Mann) Herdlick and husband Paul, Mary (Mann) Marzorati and husband Russ, and brother Robert Mann.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husbands Doil D. Rogers, and William “Bill” Hardy, and both parents.
